In a previous episode of the Mythbusters which aired back in August, Adam and Jamie try to figure out whether steak can be tenderized with explosives. They try to tenderize pieces of uncooked steak with explosives and also in this particular episode they test to see if a motorist uses more fuel when driving under stress.

Watch the video clip below as they test out the steak exploding experiment.

Mythbusters Young Scientist Special

April 18, 2008 by Healthy Shana

young-scientist.jpgThe Mythbusters Young Scientists Special will premier on the Science Channel and Science Channel HD on Saturday, April 26th at 8PM ET/PT. This is actually going to be a very cool special as these young scientists are up and coming and have already won numerous awards. The young scientists that will be busting some myths with the Mythbusters team include Discovery Channel’s 2007 Young Scientist Challenge winner Erik Gustafson as well as the three finalists.

The young scientists will be testing some green myths such as whether or not greenhouse gases really do make Earth warmer. Adam, Jamie and Brandon will test with some of the students whether electric cars are more sluggish than cars that are driven with gasoline. I’ve never actually heard that myth so I’ll be excited to see how this one works. Then to get to the stinky side of it all Alyssa and Catherine get to test to see if methane gas from cows are really bad for the planet or if it can be used as an alternative fuel.

This will be a must watch for me. I cant wait to see the students reactions and excitement.
