    Hello Mythbusters.

Back in 1906 so they say Samuel Franklin went aloft 2,600 feet suspended from 5 of his large Cody kites. I personally do not believe that, but I do make some nice cody kites here in Sunny Buffalo, New York.

If you check out my attached page you will see that I recreated that famous feat up in jPort colborne, Canada a while back.

I used 5 of my 10 foot cody kites flown in train to lift the Animal character from the muppets to a hieght of about 500 feet. This flew all afternoon to the delight of hundreds of spectators.

I propose that using between 16 and 20 of my 14 foot wingspan Cody kites all trained together we could challenge the 100 plus year feat that Samuel Franklin Cody was said to have accomplished.

todays fabrics, fiberglass and carbon rods, along with kevlar flying line and a system I designed could easily do this.

If you folks have any interest in re-creating a piece of real aviation history please call me at

    Hello Mythbusters.

Back in 1906, so they say Samuel Franklin went aloft 2,600 feet suspended from 5 of his large Cody kites. (Google Samuel Franklin cody)
I personally do not believe that claim, but I do make some nice Cody kites here in Sunny Buffalo, New York. Over 1,000 to date.

If you check out my attached page you will see that I recreated that famous feat in a small scale up in Port Colborne, Canada a while back.

I used 5 of my 10 foot cody kites flown in train to lift the “Animal” character from the muppets to a height of about 500 feet. This flew all afternoon to the delight of hundreds of spectators.

I propose that using between 16 and 20 of my 14 foot wingspan Cody kites all trained together we could challenge the 100 plus year feat that Samuel Franklin Cody was said to have accomplished.

Using todays fabrics, fiberglass and carbon rods, along with kevlar flying line and a safe flying system I designed could easily do this.
