New York Dirty Jobs - Roof Top Water Tanks
So I learned something new about New York City that I did not know before. It seems that the water pressure of NYC is only 5 stories high, therefore they need the water tanks to to get water to the top floors of buildings that are higher than 5 stories.
In this episode of Dirty Jobs, Mike Rowe actually starts building a water tank. Its pretty cool to see this get done and how for hundreds of years the same company has basically monopolized the system.
In the episode, Mike and the crew are up about 20 stories and are about to replace a water tank on a building in the middle of a New York City morning. I wouldn’t call this a Dirty Job, I’d call this episode Dangerous Jobs of NYC…pretty scary being 20 stories up with no railings trying to remove an empty water tank and put in a new one.

Enlightening factoid. NYC with its sky high buildings (above 5 stories) could not exist as it does today if it wasn’t for:

I love watching Mike Rowe’s program, “Dirty Jobs.” The program is good and Mike makes it fun and interesting. I’ve learned and have been made aware of the different, “Dirty Jobs” there are.
