Doing Da Vinci Recap
May 12, 2009 by Healthy Shana

Last night on Discovery’s Doing Da Vinci the team split up into groups to see who could make the better self-propelled cart.
The two teams made one of wood and one of metal. After months of debating precision cuts, the crew finds out once and for all how accurate parts must be built in order for daVinci’s inventions to work.
If you know anything about the work of Leonardo da Vinci’s you know that his self-propelled car, was a wooden three wheeled cart.

Deadliest Catch 5.05 Preview “Short Fuses”
May 12, 2009 by Healthy Shana

On last weeks episode of Deadliest Catch it’s now week four of king crab season. Seven people have since died, but the fishermen are still on in the hunt for crab.
The long hours and vicious hazing begin to test the Greenhorns, and even some start to crack. On the Wizard, the rookie fights to maintain dignity as the deckboss shreds him to the core.Watch the 7 minute video from last weeks episode as they battle it out.
On tonight’s episode, the crab pots continue to come up empty and the skippers are out of ideas. Low bait and long grinds take our crews to dark places — the smallest infractions from a Greenhorn or
fellow Deckhand cause tempers and even violence to flare. Aboard the Cornelia Marie the brothers Harris have a war of words.
On the Wizard, low bait forces Keith to turn his back on his brother and reach out to an old enemy: Sig Hansen. While the rest of the fleet fight it out amongst themselves — it’s a wild, swinging pot that could do fatal damage on the Time Bandit.

Tonight on Mythbusters YouTube Special
April 29, 2009 by Healthy Shana
Back in October 2008 I joined along with the Mythbusters to ask viewers from the YouTube community to send in their favorite viral videos.
So you guys submitted your best YouTube myths and the MythBusters listened! Tune-in TONIGHT to find out if your submitted myths were BUSTED, PLAUSIBLE or CONFIRMED!
The MYTHBUSTERS special marks Discovery Channel’s first program partnership initiative with YouTube. Discovery aired a series of spots beginning in September 2008, hosted by MYTHBUSTERS’ Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, that invited viewers to become a part of the myth-busting crew by posting their favorite viral videos to YouTube.
Over 200 videos were submitted along with several thousand comments to the MythBusters YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=290018A7BF3DC8FB).
For the MYTHBUSTERS YouTube Special, Adam and Jamie test if 30,000 match heads, a tin bucket and a slow burning fuse could create a huge fireball. Meanwhile, the Build Team take on an immensely popular viral video that features a giant ball of Lego rolling down the streets of San Francisco. In one of the team’s biggest builds ever, the Build Team attempt to replicate the Lego sphere — 7-feet in diameter and purportedly created from 5 million pieces — and roll it down a hill, Indiana Jones style, into a parked car without doing any damage to the car. Finally, Adam and Jamie use a series of tests with a flexed-up muscle car to test a YouTube posting that says you can make a car tire catch fire if you spin it fast enough and long enough.
